Lynn Wind, RMT, LMT, M.F. Phys., NAC

Co-Owner & President of HISM
Advance Levels Clinical Treatment Director of HISM
Lynn graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (CCMH) in 1978 with a diploma in Massage Therapy and received licensure in the same year. From 1979 to 1988, Lynn served as the Clinical Director and Head Instructor at CCMH, teaching hundreds of students who are now all over the world.

During her time in Canada, Lynn developed the Integrative Medical Massage System of Therapy, a unique approach incorporating a variety of specialized soft-tissue techniques, joint, myofascial and cranial mobilizations, aromatherapy, trigger point therapy, physiatrics, assessment, and rehabilitation exercises into a integrative package which has developed into the core of the school's curriculum. During this time, Lynn was also heavily involved in the upgrading of Canada's Massage Therapist Licensing policies.

Lynn has also written comprehensive manuals that are unduplicated in the wealth of knowledge of massage therapy. They are currently used in class for each of the quarterly Treatment Courses and are currently in the process of being published.

Peter Wind, RMT, LMT, CT

Co-Owner, Vice-President, Dean & Clinic Director
Peter graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (CCMH), Canada's premier massage school. He opened a private practice in 1980 and began teaching workshops in intrinsic joint movement a year later. For the past 16 years, Peter's interests have included nutrition and naturopathic principles and concepts.

HISM future plans are to bring innovative technologies into the realm of massage therapy. Both Lynn and Peter have worked in conjunction with the Ironman Triathalon organization to gather therapists from all over the world to aid athletes in sports and medical massage therapy.

In 1991, Peter and Lynn received "The Art of Caring Award" from the Sports Massage Training Institute in California for their years of dedication to both teaching and practicing therapeutic massage.

Gigi Goochey, MS

Instructor of Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology & Kinesiology
A graduate of California State University, Fullerton, Gigi received a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology and Sport Psychology in 1986 from the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education in 1982 with a concentration on teaching and an emphasis in Life Sciences.

Gigi has been an instructor at HISM since 1988 and is an exercise therapist at the Kona Rehabilitation Center. Her background includes teaching aerobics, swimming, nutrition, weight lifting, personal trainer and fitness instructor and recreational director.

Juliet Nacino, LMT, CHFI

Clinic Supervisor; Advance Levels Clinical Treatment Instructor
Born on Kauai, Juliet is an island girl and a Kona resident since 1975. A graduate of HISM, she utilizes the Knight-Wind Method of Treatment which is integrated with other techniques such as Joint Play Mobilization, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Sports Massage, and energy balancing in her practice.
Juliet is an aerobic instructor, a former body builder, and a Certified Health/Fitness Instructor with the American College of Sports Medicine.
She is the owner of her own business, TOTAL BODY by Juliet, a well-rounded approach to wellness, where she specializes in helping her clients improve their quality of life through health, fitness training and counseling, and therapeutic massage.

Chet Glenn, LMT

Body Therapy Instructor, Clinic Supervisor
Chet Glenn is a certified instructor of Thai Massage from the Institute of Thai Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Chet also teaches a special course at HISM called “Thai on the Table,” for those wishing to bring the move of Thai Massage onto a massage table. In addition, Chet helps coordinate hundreds of therapists for the annual Ironman triathlon on the Big Island, teaches advanced anatomy and sports massage to therapists.
Chet was recently listed in Triathlete Magazine as “the best sports massage therapist in Kona!”

Leslee Veterino, LMT

Entry Level Instructor; Body Therapy Instructor
LesLee Vetorino, originally from Portland, Oregon, was a professional speaker in the anti-violence arena. It was during this time that she became a Reiki Master, believing that touch and the power of Spirit would help to heal the bodies and souls of abused women. Several years later, she trained in Cranial Sacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute, and after moving to the Big Island of Hawaii with her husband in 1995 to set up a dolphin adventure charter business, she signed up for Chet Glenn’s Tai Massage class. Chet’s class made her see how passionately she loved bodywork. She also realized just how little she knew, and began to seriously entertain the idea of becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist. Without blinking an eye, she signed up for classes at the Hawaiian School of Massage and has not looked back.
LesLee currently has her own practice in downtown Kailua-Kona and loves teaching massage and Pohaku Wela (Hawaiian Hot Stones Therapy) to eager and enthusiastic students who want to be trained at a school offering the finest selection of bodywork courses in the country and live the Spirit of Aloha.

Nykol West, LMT

Clinic Supervisor
Nykol is a graduate of the Hawaiian Islands School of Massage and has lived in Kona for 15 years. A Reiki Therapist, Yoga Instructor, Massage Therapist with a background in Macrobiotics, Ayurveda, and Vegetarian Cooking, there is little that Nykol knows in regards to alternative wellness and health. She has been an esthetician at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel and an Herbal and Vitamin Advisor for the Wild Oats Natural Food Stores. In her free time, Nykol enjoys living in Hawai’i.

Teri Jensen

Body Therapy Instructor
Teri worked in the financial industry for almost 20 years before she began training in alternative health methods like yoga and meditation for her own personal stress management. By 1990, she became certified in Reflexology, Reiki and Polarity Therapy and began her own private practice. A former graduate of HISM, Teri graduated from the Licensure Program in 1992. At HISM, Teri teaches Polarity Therapy and in her personal time, devotes herself to writing and her family.

Dr. Koakane Green, LMT

Body Therapy Instructor
Dr. Green has been a health care practitioner since 1980. He worked for seven years as a Licensed Massage Therapist in Washington State. In 1991, he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Western States Chiropractic College, graduating cum laude. Dr. Green has studied and practiced kinesiology for 24 years, and has utilized the techniques in his Kona chiropractic practice since moving here in 1993. Born in Honolulu, he also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health from Huxley College in Bellingham, WA.

Anne Nuttall, LMT

Program Administrator
Anne graduated and became a Certified Massage Therapist in Boulder, Colorado through the Healing Spirits Massage Training Program in 2003. Originally from Michigan, Anne moved to Hawai’i in 2003, whereupon she received Lomilomi Massage Certification through Aunty Margaret’s Lomilomi program, and became a Hawai’i Licensed Massage Therapist in 2004. At HISM, Anne supports staff and the Administrative team as Program, Admissions & Professional/Spa Cordinator. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, eating yummy food, and enjoying life in Hawai’i.



Deborah Fulmor

Student Service Administrator
Deborah was born in So. California and has lived in Northern California for nearly 30 years. She took her basic massage training from Heartwood Massage School in 1986 and since then has been certified in Healing Touch, Reiki and Medical Aromatherapy. While employed by Hospice of Marin in Corte Madera, CA as a Home Heath Aide, she did massage as part of her job assignment for 10 years.

Deborah has been "commuting" to Hawaii for many years and moved here in November 2005. She has come out of retirement to pursue her passion of helping the healing arts to expand and grow through high quality education here at HISM. She supports staff, students & the Administrative team as Workshop & Wellness Center Cordinator. She loved to swim, dance, and garden, as well as continuing her education in the healing arts whenever she can.



Toshie Takahashi-Ruiz, LMT

International Program Administrator
Toshie was born and raised in Sendai, Japan, moved and lived on the East coast for 10 years. After the arrival of her two beautiful daughters, she moved to Kona in 1999 seeking a better life for herself and her children. She enrolled in the massage program at HISM where she encountered the art and healing power of massage. As a graduate of HISM, Toshie assists students through the transformative process of becoming a professional licensed therapist by developing their unique self-awareness in a nurturing, healing and supportive environment.
At HISM, Toshie is the Program Associate and translator for the Japanese program.
